We loved being able to spend our first day together as a family. We also had a lot of visitors. Grandma and Grandpa Couch could not wait to get up to the hospital to see you. They came about 9:00 that morning. To say Grandpa is head over heels for you would be an understatement!
We also got visited by our sweet Pediatrician, Dr. Rose. He was Mommy's doctor when I was a baby just like you and he is the best doctor out there. He is getting close to retiring but I am glad that we at least get to have him take care of you for a little while until he does.
Mommy and Daddy saw him at the temple a few weeks ago and I let him know you would be coming soon. He said that he was so excited and has been waiting for me to bring my baby to him. He still remembers me from when I was little and told me I am still one of his favorite patients. He is so excited to be able to be your doctor and said he would have come earlier in the morning if he would have realized it was my baby.
He also let us know that he was very glad we took you when we did. With some of the levels in your little body, you would have been pretty bad off it we would have waited much longer to have you. He said you would have went straight to the NICU, even if we waited only a few more days. Looking back, I think that I had all of the pains I did because you needed to get here so you could be healthy. We are so grateful for these tender little mercies from our Heavenly Father!
Your sweet Daddy and Grandpa
Mommy looks a little tired.
Finally a name for our sweet baby girl
Grandpa and Grandma Beardall also stopped by to meet you as well. They are very in love with you too and think you are just precious.
While we were in the hospital, a really yucky storm came through and rained and snowed really hard. I was glad we were nice and warm inside with you.
Your Daddy is so in love you his little princess.
Taking a nap with Daddy.
Mommy was finally able to get a shower!
Grandpa Couch came back up to see you because he just can't get enough of you and that beautiful head of dark hair.
Your Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma Firth also stopped by to meet you as well.
Mommy was playing dress up and tried on a cute hair bow.
Your little monkey outfit
Uncle Brandon and Aunt Brie also stopped by to visit.
We had a lot of visitors that day. You and Mommy were so tired!
When Dr. Rose came to visit you, he also let us know that you weren't maintaining your blood sugar and that you would have to have your blood drawn every three hours to make sure that it was staying at a good level. If it dropped too low, you would have to go to the NICU. Thank goodness that never happened but your poor little feet have so many sores on it because they had to draw your blood so many times.
He also let us know that you had jaundice, which is where your little liver doesn't function like it should. They made us put this little blanket on your back so it could make your liver healthy to do what it needs to do. It wasn't very fun to keep you on it. We had to keep it on you all of the time and you also couldn't wear any clothes and you kept scratching your beautiful little face. We called you our little glow worm!
We are so grateful to have you here and even with your two little issues, we are so glad that you are strong and healthy.
