Quantitative HCG Tests & Progesterone Pills

When we got back from our trip to Chicago, I called my doctor again because I am a little nervous.  I have been taking a baby Aspirin once a day for the past 16 months to help prevent a miscarriage in case we were able to get pregnant.  As soon as my doctor found out we were pregnant she put me on a progesterone pill to help my body hold on to you better.  She also had me come in for a Quantitative HCG Test that tests my blood to make sure you are healthy.  I went in for the first blood test on September 1st.  My numbers were in the low 700's.  In 48 hours, they want those numbers to at least double.  When I went back in on September 3rd, my numbers were in the 2,000's.  This is very great news!

I have been feeling pretty good but am starting to get tired.  I also don't have too much of an appetite these past few days.  I sometimes feel sick to my stomach but I am grateful for these reminders that you are growing inside of me.

Your daddy and I get to go to our first doctor's appointment in a week from today.  We are so excited to see your sweet little body and hear your strong little heartbeat.  Hang on baby so we can hold you in our arms in a few short months.

Love,

Mommy & Daddy
